Controller and scope

The publisher and controller for developer-managed processing is Blacksunset OÜ, Estonian registry code 16513658. Contact: info@blacksunset.ee.

If you email support, the studio processes your email address and message only to answer the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

Data handled by the app

• Local sign data may include a passenger name, company or hotel name, flight number, meeting point, additional text, pickup time and status, sign layout choices, reusable templates and the current draft preserved through Android saved state.
• Recent sign history is off by default and, when enabled, is limited to 12 entries. Pickup queues, templates, imported logo copies, the Pro entitlement cache and privacy settings are also stored locally.
• GateName can read a CSV file or image only after the user chooses it with an Android system picker. The selected CSV rows can be imported into the local pickup queue and the selected logo is copied into app-private storage; GateName does not modify or delete the source files.
• Google Play may process the product identifier, purchase and acknowledgement state, purchase token, app/package and version information, Android and Billing Library versions, a Billing session identifier, operation and response information, timing and technical error diagnostics. GateName never receives payment-card or bank-account details.

Permissions

• The merged release manifest contains Google Play Billing, internet and network-state access. GateName requests no runtime permission for location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, photos, broad file storage or notifications and declares no Advertising ID permission.
• Android system photo, document and share interfaces provide user-selected files or text without granting GateName broad access to a photo library, messages or storage.
• While a full-screen sign is open, GateName temporarily asks Android to keep that display awake and increases only the app window brightness. It does not change the device-wide brightness setting, and the behaviour ends when the sign closes.

Storage and security

• Sign history, pickup queues and templates use an app-private Room database. Preferences, the durable passenger-clear marker and the cached Pro entitlement use app-private DataStore files. The active draft may also exist in Android saved state.
• GateName disables Android cloud backup and device transfer for app data, stores imported logo copies in app-private files and does not permit cleartext network traffic. GateName does not claim a separate custom encryption layer.
• When the optional 24-hour setting is enabled, entries older than 24 hours are removed only from recent sign history the next time GateName opens or resumes. It does not automatically remove the current draft, pickup queue, templates, logos, source files or copies already shared elsewhere.
• A sign image can remain in GateName’s temporary export cache for up to 24 hours, with no more than 20 cached exports. Cleanup runs when the app opens or another sign is exported.

Third-party services

• The core sign display, local history, pickup queue and templates work offline. GateName initializes Google Play Billing when the app starts and returns to the foreground to load product details, verify or restore Pro ownership and support the optional purchase.
• GateName sends no passenger name, sign text, logo, CSV content, template or exported image to Google Play Billing. Google Play Billing and Google Data Transport may handle the purchase and technical diagnostic information described above under Google’s terms.
• GateName includes no advertising SDK, developer analytics, crash-reporting service, attribution SDK, cloud sync, developer account provider or developer-operated backend.

Advertising and purchases

• GateName shows no advertising in either the free or Pro experience.
• The free full-screen sign remains available without an account, subscription or purchase.
• GateName Pro is an optional restorable one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. The intended euro-area launch price is €3.99; the final regional price shown in the app is always Google Play’s localized formatted price.

Retention and deletion

• The in-app Clear all passenger data control removes the current passenger draft, recent history, pickup queue, templates, imported logo copies and GateName’s cached sign exports. Visual preferences and the Pro entitlement may remain because they are not passenger data.
• Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling also removes GateName’s local app data. It does not delete a source CSV or image, remove a copy already shared to another app, or cancel Pro ownership recorded by Google Play.
• Permanent Pro ownership remains associated with the purchasing Google Play account and can be restored. Google retains purchase and diagnostic information under its own policies and account controls.
• GateName has no developer-managed account or cloud profile to delete. If a user emails support, Blacksunset and its email providers receive the sender address, message and attachments; deletion can be requested at info@blacksunset.ee subject to applicable legal retention duties.

Your rights and contact

Where data-protection law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data controlled by the publisher, and object to processing. Most product data described here is held only on your device and can be managed there.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate.
