The publisher and controller for developer-managed processing is Blacksunset OÜ, Estonian registry code 16513658. Contact: info@blacksunset.ee.

If you email support, the studio processes your email address and message only to answer the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

Data handled by the app

• Your journal can contain projects, fibre records, equipment and bobbins, material quantities, yarn measurements and recipes, notes, work sessions, saved drafts, correction history and preferences. Plytrail uses these records locally to show your work, calculate material balances and measurements, preserve corrections, resume sessions and create exports you request. Names, notes and photos may contain personal information you choose to include.
• A random identifier for this installation, together with device timing information, helps the session timer distinguish a device restart from a continuing session. The app uses it locally; it is not an advertising identifier and is not included in your journal backup. This timer identifier is separate from Google Play’s billing diagnostics.
• When you add a photo, Android’s photo picker lets you select the image to provide to Plytrail. The app makes a private copy of the file supplied by the picker so your journal can display it later. It does not keep the original photo’s source address, and your original image stays in its original location.
• The photo copy preserves the image bytes supplied by Android. Metadata still present in that file, such as the date, camera details or location, may remain in the private copy and full journal backup. Plytrail does not remove all image metadata or use photo location to map your activity. Remove unwanted metadata before selecting a photo. Android or your photo provider may separately limit the metadata they supply.
• Google Play supplies product and price information, purchase status, the product identifier, purchase token and signed receipt. The receipt can also contain the order identifier and purchase time. Plytrail checks the receipt on your device to enable Pro and sends the purchase token to Google Play to acknowledge a completed purchase. It does not receive your full payment-card number, bank login or Google account password.
• If you email info@blacksunset.ee, we and our email or IT service providers receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request and investigate the issue. Send only what is needed; a full journal backup may contain more information than a screenshot or short description. The publisher is Blacksunset OÜ, Estonian registry code 16513658, using the Google Play developer name Blacksunset Studio.

Permissions

• Plytrail uses Android’s photo picker and system file chooser for the images, imports and export destinations you select. It does not request broad access to your photo library or files, or permission to use your location, contacts, camera or microphone. A selected photo or file provider may retrieve your chosen content from its own cloud service.
• Google Play Billing uses internet access, network-state access and the Google Play billing permission. Journal work does not require a Plytrail account or internet connection. Buying Pro, restoring a purchase and checking Google Play ownership may require an internet connection and the Google Play account used for the purchase.

Storage and security

• The journal database and selected photo copies are held in Android’s app-private storage. Plytrail does not add its own database or photo encryption, app password or biometric lock. These files rely on Android’s app access controls and device security. We do not run a server that receives or synchronises your journal.
• A full journal backup is a ZIP containing journal records, notes, linked photos, settings, drafts and correction history, with checksums to help detect damage. The ZIP is not encrypted or password-protected by Plytrail. Anyone who obtains a copy may be able to read it. The backup excludes the Google Play purchase receipt and the timer’s installation identifier.
• Restoring a full backup requires your selection and confirmation and replaces the current journal, including its settings and photo references. It is separate from restoring a Pro purchase through Google Play. A restored journal does not restore Pro, and Google Play purchase restoration does not restore journal records or photos. Keep a backup of current work before replacing it.
• You can also export a fibre list as CSV, share a yarn recipe as text or create and share a skein label as PDF. These files contain the relevant record details; the text recipe and PDF label do not embed photo files. You choose the destination or receiving app. If you choose a cloud service or share online, that provider may transfer and retain the content under its own policies. We receive it only if you choose to send it to us.
• Plytrail disables standard Android cloud backup and defines exclusions for standard device-to-device backup transfers. Migration can also depend on Android, the device manufacturer or device-management settings. Plytrail has no automatic journal cloud backup or cross-device sync. Keep your own backup somewhere you can still access if the device is lost or replaced.
• The signed Google Play receipt and its signature are stored separately in private no-backup storage, outside journal exports and Android backup. The app checks the saved receipt’s signature, product, package and completed-purchase status before using it for offline Pro access. The local receipt has no fixed time-based expiry. A later successful Google Play check showing no valid purchase can remove Pro access; a temporary connection failure does not itself erase the verified receipt.

Third-party services

• Google Play handles the optional Pro transaction under its own terms and Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Plytrail checks the available offer and purchase ownership at startup and when returning to the foreground. These checks can occur for free users too. Receipt verification takes place on your device; there is no separate Plytrail purchase-verification server, and your journal content is not passed to the billing service.
• Google Play’s billing library automatically sends technical diagnostics to Google to investigate billing errors and improve reliability. This includes billing API results and connection problems, with app and Android versions, device model and build, language and region settings, network type, operator codes and timing information. Its background transport can queue and upload diagnostics without a completed Pro purchase. Plytrail has no separate switch for this diagnostic flow. It has no advertising SDK or separate developer-operated behavioural analytics or crash-reporting service.
• Google may make order and financial-report information available to the publisher for purchase support, refunds and accounting. This may include an order reference, product, transaction date, amount, status and buyer country or other regional details included in Google’s reports. These records do not provide access to your journal.

Advertising and purchases

• Plytrail 1.0.0 is being prepared for release and is not yet publicly available on Google Play. The planned free journal supports three active projects and ten standalone fibre batches, with the complete spinning workflow, measurements, notes, photos and backup tools. Archived projects do not count toward the active-project allowance.
• The planned one-time Pro price is EUR 14.99 or USD 14.99. Pro removes the free limits on creating projects and standalone fibre batches and adds named recipe templates. There is no subscription or advertising. After launch, Google Play will show the applicable local price and taxes before purchase. The published policy is not a claim that the app or Pro purchase is already available.
• Existing work remains usable, editable, completable and exportable without Pro, including after restoring a journal that exceeds the free creation limits. Backup restoration remains available. You can add material needed to finish existing projects and use existing recipe templates. Creating additional work beyond the free allowances and saving new named recipe templates require Pro.

Retention and deletion

• Archiving keeps a project and its history; it does not erase them. Corrections can retain earlier values in local history. Removing a photo entry does not guarantee immediate deletion of the stored image bytes: a private copy can remain until app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled. The original library photo and copies already exported or shared are unaffected.
• To remove all local journal data, private photo copies, the timer identifier and cached purchase receipt, use Android Settings → Apps → Plytrail → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Menu names may vary by device. Export records you want to keep first. There is no Plytrail account to close, and we cannot recover a journal that exists only on your device.
• Delete backups, exported files and shared copies separately where you saved or sent them. Their recipients apply their own retention rules. Temporary transfer files are normally removed after a transfer finishes or is cancelled. Generated PDFs may remain in the app’s cache. An interrupted photo import or transfer may leave temporary files in private app storage until they are cleaned up or you clear app storage.
• The receipt cache remains until it is replaced, cleared after a successful Google Play check finds no valid purchase, or removed with app storage. Clearing Plytrail does not refund or cancel a purchase or delete Google’s transaction history or billing diagnostics. Google controls retention within its services under its own policies. Plytrail does not provide a mechanism to erase Google’s billing diagnostics; an eligible Pro purchase can be restored through Google Play.
• We keep support correspondence while it is needed to resolve and follow up on the request. Order, accounting and dispute records may be retained to meet applicable legal obligations or establish or defend a claim. Access is limited to people and service providers who need the information for those purposes. For questions or requests concerning personal information we hold, contact info@blacksunset.ee.

Your rights and contact

Where data-protection law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data controlled by the publisher, and object to processing. Most product data described here is held only on your device and can be managed there.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate.
