Data handled by the app
- Goal, level, controlled baseline, language, reminder preferences, workout sets, templates, interrupted-session state, completion status, effort rating, form feedback, pain level and optional notes you enter.
- Version 2.0 can read the previous Plankos version’s app-private WebView storage once to migrate existing local profile and workout data. Migration does not upload the data.
- Google Mobile Ads and UMP may process or share IP address, device or account identifiers, advertising identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, consent choices and approximate location derived from network information for advertising, measurement, security, compliance and fraud prevention.
Permissions
- Notification permission is optional and only supports local workout reminders. Reboot access restores enabled reminders and vibration supports timer cues. The active timer uses Android’s keep-screen-on window flag; Plankos does not request exact-alarm permission or run a developer-created persistent foreground service.
- The merged app manifest also contains network, advertising ID, Android Privacy Sandbox, basic phone-state, wake-lock and foreground-service declarations supplied by Google Mobile Ads SDK.
- Plankos does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call log, Health Connect or exact-alarm permission.
Storage and security
- Training data, templates, active timer state and reminder preferences are stored in native app-private storage. Android automatic backup and device transfer are disabled. JSON backup export and import happen only when you choose them, and oversized or incompatible backups are rejected.
Third-party services
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) begins after onboarding and manages applicable advertising privacy choices before an ad request. Available choices can be reopened from Settings.
- Google Mobile Ads supplies one adaptive banner on Today, Progress, Exercises and Settings. No banner is shown during onboarding, workout selection, an active workout timer or post-workout feedback.
- Publisher-side ad personalization, publisher first-party identifiers and SDK crash reporting are disabled, and ad content is limited to Google’s G rating.
- No developer-operated backend or separate analytics service receives your training profile, workout history, pain feedback or notes.
Advertising and purchases
- Plankos is free and may show one consent-aware banner on selected non-workout screens. It has no subscription or in-app purchase in version 2.0.0.
Retention and deletion
- Resetting data in Settings or clearing app data removes the local profile, workout history, templates, settings and interrupted workout and cancels reminders scheduled by Plankos. Uninstalling removes app-local data. Exported backups must be deleted separately from the location where you saved them.
- Google retains consent and advertising data under its own policies.
Your rights and contact
Where data-protection law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data controlled by the publisher, and object to processing. Most product data described here is held only on your device and can be managed there.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate.
This policy may be updated when the app or legal requirements change. The revision date above shows the current version.
