This page explains the current data practices of

ToneSlice

01

Controller and scope

The publisher and controller for developer-managed processing is Blacksunset OÜ, Estonian registry code 16513658. Contact: info@blacksunset.ee.

Hariduse põik 1, Kõrveküla alevik, Tartu vald, Tartu maakond, 60512, Estonia.

If you email support, the studio processes your email address and message only to answer the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

02

Data handled by the app

  • The selected MP3, requested cut points, output name and destination are used on the device to create the clip. ToneSlice also keeps local recent-export metadata: file URI, name, destination, duration and creation time.
  • Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share IP address, approximate location derived from it, app interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention.
03

Permissions

  • Android’s system document picker grants access only to the MP3 you choose. ToneSlice does not request broad storage, microphone, contacts, camera, precise location or device-location permission.
  • Modify system settings is optional and is used only after you choose to make a saved ringtone, notification or alarm the Android default. Saving, sharing and opening audio do not require it.
  • Internet, network-state and advertising-ID access support Google consent and advertising. Google may estimate a general location from the IP address without ToneSlice requesting Android location permission.
04

Storage and security

  • ToneSlice creates temporary cache copies only while inspecting or exporting audio and removes them after completion, failure or cancellation. Exported clips are saved through Android MediaStore in the chosen Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms or Music folder.
  • Recent-export metadata stays in app-private local storage. ToneSlice disables Android app backup; exported MediaStore files remain separate and under your control.
05

Third-party services

  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests and manages applicable privacy choices. Google Mobile Ads supplies the Home-view banner only after the consent state allows an ad request.
  • Android’s system document picker, MediaStore, share interface and sound settings handle the local file and optional default-sound actions you initiate.
06

Advertising and purchases

  • ToneSlice may show one consent-aware banner on the Home view only when no audio is open. It uses no interstitial, rewarded or app-open ads and has no subscription or in-app purchase.
07

Retention and deletion

  • Temporary audio copies are removed automatically. You can remove entries from Recent exports inside ToneSlice; clearing app data or uninstalling removes current local app metadata and remembered document access.
  • Source files and exported clips remain until you delete them from their storage location. Google retains consent and advertising information under its own policies. Support emails can be deleted by requesting it at info@blacksunset.ee, subject to applicable legal retention duties.
08

Your rights and contact

Where data-protection law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data controlled by the publisher, and object to processing. Most product data described here is held only on your device and can be managed there.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate.

This policy may be updated when the app or legal requirements change. The revision date above shows the current version.
